Queendom Come

Queendom Come, or Queensie at the stable, was the perfect mare to start with, a fiery horse that worked perfectly with our no none-sense jockey. We bought her as a yearling from a simple local auction. She came in snorting and thrashing her head, we were tempted to name her dragoness but thought better of it. Her entrance was explosive and aggressive, we fought hard on the bid for her but eventually got the pleasure to take her home.

Upon taking her home and starting to learn her personality and ability to run we found out that we were right in our assumptions upon first glance. She's gentle with other horses and people, but needs a firm jockey with a grasp of a violent get up and go attitude. She is a hot-headed horse on the track, thrashing her head in the starting gate and snorting like a dragon breathing fire.

She's completely energetic and never seems to tire, continuing to go and takes a moment to extend her stride. We thought upon first working with her that she would take charge in the field and lead the packs pace. Instead she hangs back, hiding in the shadows of the other horses until the final turn at the backstretch. She extends herself fully then and overtakes as if showing off. It sometimes feels like she's teasing them, thundering down the track and yelling to the wind 'this is how a real horse does it.' with her snorting breaths.
